Principles of Retirement Planning Course

A Classroom Course for Adults, Teaching the Principles of Retirement Planning

The Difference Between the Principles of Retirement Planning Course and Other “Retirement Planning” Courses
Many colleges offer programs for adult financial education, especially as it relates to planning for retirement. These courses cover a broad array of topics in retirement such as Medicare supplements, Social Security, long term care planning, estate planning, life insurance, income planning, and retirement planning.

This course is VERY different! It is a course on conservative retirement planning.

Who Should Attend

If you are looking for answers to what is happening to our financial markets, how mistakes can be avoided and what you can do to limit your market exposure, this course is for you. And if you are concerned about your 401(k), 403(b), IRA or other retirement accounts, or maybe just want to be more confident in your current plan, you should enroll.

Why You Should Attend

The objectives of this course are to provide you with the tools, insight, and proven strategies that will allow you to build a retirement plan that you are confident will achieve the goals you set for your retirement. This course will teach you easy-to-understand strategies on how to save money on taxes, manage risk and create an income stream for the retirement that you want.

Knowledge

This is not a financial seminar, but rather a financial course of study. You will receive unbiased and objective guidance and the knowledge and confidence to make financial decisions suited to your level of risk and in-line with your retirement standards and values to better understand your life decisions.

The ABC Difference

The ABC Retirement Planning course explores the concepts of conservative planning, rather than taking a tour through a broad range of retirement subjects, in order to provide the student with useable information which is dramatically different from any other retirement planning used today. So, it is obviously a much-needed course in our current market as boomers plan for retirement.

Course Outline

Section One: Keeping Up With The Changes?

The days of pensions are disappearing. Social Security is changing and may not be exactly the same when you need it. Today, retirees are forced to adapt to new rules which, in many cases, they have never played by in the past. Section One will cover ways to address these new rules, adjust to shifting paradigms, gain perspective on Wall Street myths, and learn about common retirement planning mistakes.

Section Two: How Do You Manage Risk In Retirement?

In Section Two, we will discuss the “Color” of Money:
What is Yellow Money, Red Money, and Green Money, and what assets comprise them? You will learn how to allocate the proper assets to each category. We will discuss how the ABC Model can help you in Bull Markets, and protect you in Bear Markets.

Section Three: Income Planning Challenges

This section will address your number one need in retirement: Income.
You will learn how to plan to have enough and stay ahead of the inflation curve. For most Americans, the largest asset going into retirement is their 401(k), 403(b) or IRA. In this session, we will go into great depth on how to preserve those accounts from the devastation of Taxes and Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

Section Four: How to Create Your Plan

“A completely different and personalized approach”
You will learn how to create your own ABC Plan. We will discuss the planning process in great length, including the “Seven Steps to Building Your ABC Plan.” We will discuss how to use the tools for planning that are in your workbook to make sure your plan is designed to meet your needs.
